Yes, I realize I’m six days late posting this. You might say I’ve done nothing but sleep and eat ice cream lost track of time this past week. You’d be right.
But unlike many previous years, I’ve gotta say I’m a little sad to see 2013 go because it was so great. Usually I can point to about one-million things that make me want to kiss a particularly awful year goodbye—a broken down car, a broken refrigerator, a broken air conditioner, a broken—
Wait. That all happened in 2013. Maybe last year was the crappy one.
Maybe I’m GLAD it’s freaking over!
Anyway, other than all my broken appliances slash vehicles, 2013 proved to be a darn good year. It was the year I signed my first book contract. The year I worked under my first deadlines. The year I received my first professional edits. The year I learned all about book marketing.
The year I finally became published.
It was a good year.
It garnered some favorites.
Like this book.
And this one.
Like this snack.
And this drink.
Like this movie.
And this album.
Like this place.
And these people.
2013 might go down in history as one of the best years I can remember. 2014, you’ve barely started, but you already need to step it up.
You can start by helping me win the lottery to pay for all these broken appliances.
Happy New Year!
